Saturday Night

Today was a very quiet day. Not much is happening. There are no answers, no new results. The doctors are still quite baffled but, from what I hear, we're aiming to get me out of here on Monday.

Mom is not feeling well again, stomach virus. I'm sending her home with David and Illana. This will be the first time I'm here alone. Thank God I'm feeling well enough and I'm pretty sure I'll be fine.

If it weren't for all of the arrangements for home care that need to be made vis a vis visiting nurses, home PT, etc. I could probably get out of here tomorrow. Unfortunately, the social worker who makes these arrangements will not be in until Monday. So for now, we just hang out and wait.

Thank you all for all of your support, love, good wishes and prayers. Ya just gotta believe!!

  1. Hi Leah, So sorry to hear Mom is not feeling well. Hopefully that nasty virus will pass quickly and that you or no one else in the family will get it. I'm glad that you will be home soon. I know it's hard to hurry up and wait. I went out with my friend Denise today. She took me to the Lake Grove mall where I went to Macy's and had my makeup done by a clinique consultant. I'm all gussied up with no where to go. Song - Just another Saturday night. I hope and pray for you my friend that you will feel strong enough to do all the things your little heart desires. If there is anything you or the family need please call. ok it's midnight and I'm going to sleep. Be well and I hope your transition will go without a hitch. LH&K xxx000xxxBuford

  2. Dear Leah;

    Happy to hear you had a quiet Shabbos and sad to hear your Mom is under the weather. Hope you get home soon and Mom is back to her usual self.
    Tell your sis I love your blog, it keeps me connected without being invasive. It also keeps all of us "out there" aware and reminds us to keep praying for your quick refuah.

  4. Leah - How can someone go through a disease/transplant like this and NOT believe in miracles, and how can those around that are closest to us not see the miracles each day! You are so positive and upbeat. I love your attitude towards life and strive to be like that each day. You are such an inspiration. Keep believing and stay strong. You will be home soon and all will be well. I am praying for you and your mom to feel better! Keep us posted.

  5. Hey there. Just went on since like Friday morning. We were in Monsey for a Bar Mitzvah over Shabbos.

    Sorry to hear that mom is not well but very happy to hear that you are doing well and that you will G-d willing come home on Monday.

    Can't wait to see you back in your own home. You know that if there's anything you need or want (i.e. latkes) all you have to do is call.

    Also, we need to make a date for Challah baking with Illana and my machine.

    Love ya.

  8. Hi Leah,
    I was driving along today and thinking about you today. Then I found an email about your blog, quite by accident, as I was sorting through some old email. So I knew that I had to drop you a line. I have read a bit of this blog and cannot help but admire your courage and strength. Wishing you refuah shlayma.
