T+29

Good morning. Today I became a little more independent. I prepared my own breakfast, taped up my port by myself, took a bath, washed my hair/head. Of course, Mom was standing by at the ready just in case I needed anything. But I got dressed and Thank God was able to do more than before.

Didn't sleep too well last night, but I don't really know why. I think because my daughter was out late and I just couldn't really sink into it. I'll probably take a small nap today.

I've been feeling a little bored and maybe a little cabin fever. That's a good sign! Unfortunately, I really can't concentrate very well. I'm pretty sure it's from the steroids. So, it's not easy to "get into" anything. Usually I'd be knitting, crocheting, reading, etc. But I just don't have the wherewithall to sit and do. I've been watching so much TV that if anyone needs to know channel schedules, please do get in touch. I've got the lineups in my head.

I'm looking forward to seeing a few visitors today. As I get stronger, it gets easier. Thank you again to those sending in meals. (The ziti was amazing). Thanks to you all for your comforting words and prayers and support.

  2. Leah, I had a wonderful dream about you. You were walking along with Illana, and you were beautiful and healthy and looked so happy. ok, so it wasn't a long dream but it was by far the best one I've had in a long time. Continue getting stronger, better and more independent day by day.

  4. Hi Leah,
Sometimes we wonder for a moment are all our prayers being directed in the right direction, i think if anyone reads your blog from the begining we could all say Hashem is holding your hand day by day!
Its remarkable to read all your details and see how thankfull you are for every little step you are taking in the right direction. I dont stop thinking abut your great mom who is at your side wherevever you are.
Keep up your spirits , and we will keep up our prayers.

  8. Leah - so glad to hear you are becoming more independent. I too was up last night, but I know it is because the steroids make me sleepless. My kids were both home in bed safe, so no excuses there for me. I will continue to pray for your health and strenght. Keep in touch and if you are ever up at night and see me of facebook and want to chat, just let me know.

  9. LS....
You sounded so great on the phone today! Remind me never to play TV trivia with you! Just stay away from the home shopping channel...they do not have free shipping anymore and your item will not be guaranteed to arrive my XMAS. I say this as I am standing by my window hoping for the UPS truck to arrive with my sundays purchases. I think I need to start my nursing career. Before I do, I will find out just how to "tape a port"...just in case u need me to ..instructions must be online somewhere. OK..enough about me. I will see you tomorrow....get some sleep...take 2 pills tonight!! xoxoxoxo

  10. Hi Leah, Sounds like you had a great day. It is so important to have a sense of self reliance. Are you busy Christmas Day? I would love to see you and the family. I'll call you tomorrow to see if that is good for you. Love Beth

  12. Leah, just hearing little things like " you're feeling like a mother" and your "crocheting "( whatever that is) is good news, you have to be feeling a lot better. If you're bored, come hang around my house for awhile. Take care, the Florida Pollacks aren't going anywhere, I'm sure that people all over the world are thinking about you, we got South Florida covered.
