Hi From Me

Hi. I know I haven't written in a while. Some days I just haven't got the strength. I'm grateful to Mom & Illana for keeping my blog up-to-date. I was transfused with a unit of blood last night and I guess now I understand the whole "vampire" thing. I mean, I felt instantly stronger this morning. But between the weakness and the fever yesterday, I think I could say it was definitely NOT one of my better days. I've been out of bed a couple of times today and was sitting in a chair...definite improvement.

I am overwhelmed by the comments you leave here. I would guess that most people aren't even aware of the impact they've had on others. I'm deeply, deeply moved by your thoughts of love and wishes for speedy recovery and, most of all, your prayers. Please keep 'em comin'.

  1. YAY!!!!!!!! It's so good to have you back. I sent an e-mail this morning to my entire list asking people to double their tefilla efforts today because of the night you had last night. Thank G-d for the power of tefilla. I pray that you keep getting stronger minute by minute. Let's hear it for group hugs but I'll wait patiently for mine when you get home.

    Love you.

  3. Hi Leah and Judy,
I just got back to Yerushalayim and back to my computer, i have been following you day by day
through my family and have been thinking about you and davening and just wishing to hear good news minute by minute.
Leah, the last time i saw you was in the rehab at your fathers bed side and i marvelled at your strength , your upbeat attitude , your absoulute devotion to your father and to the rest of the family, you were so worried about eveyone , i am sure that in that zechus you will surely have a Refuah Shleimah very very soon!
You are an incredible person, and there are no words to even begin to talk about how incredible your mom is!!!
The weather here in Yerushalayim is glorious, and hopefully tommorow morning i will get to the Kosel to Daven for you.
Hope today will be a better day, just know that we are here in yerushaayim with you!
My love to Ilana and Keih.
    With great admiration,
    Zeldie

  5. Wow -- it is great to see a post from you (even with the great job your mom and daughter did in your stead.)
We are all hoping that there are only better days a-coming and you continue feeling better and better.
I saw Allen Rickman Sun night. He and his wife are in a marvelous Yiddish show he wrote. He got all nostalgic about hanging out on Dickens street w-a-y back when.
He wanted me to tell you that you are now in his prayers as well.
Please keep the good news coming,
    Marc

  7. I checked the blog this morning and saw that Judy posted. When I came back later this afternoon, my eyes were filled with tears to see that BH you had the strength to sign-on and update us with the great news that you are feeling a bit better. Judy – thanks so much for keeping us all updated on Leah’s progress. It is amazing to keep seeing what a devoted mother you are and how you don’t leave her side. It serves as an inspiration to us all; while at the same time, I am sure it is very comforting for Leah to know that you are there going through this hard time with her. Although we always wish that Leah has the strength to sign-on herself, it is great to hear from you or Ilana! Ilana – you know that we all think you are the GREATEST! Leah – we keep Davening that you should continue to feel the effects of the transplant and get stronger everyday. Like they say “it gets worse before it gets better” so hopefully, the worst is over!

    Thinking of you Always,
    Leiba (Moskowitz) Helman

  11. Wow, Leah it is great to hear from you!
It is great to hear you are getting some strength back! It is beautiful that you don't take small steps to recovery for granted. Getting out of bed and sitting in a chair is not a simple task, it requires lots of strength and I'm glad you are able to do it! Keep up that great attitude of yours :)!!
I would just like to mention the angels surrounding you.
I'm sure you are feeling it every second and what i am about to say is nothing new to you, but i have to tell you what an amazing family you have, they strength and support they have been blessed with and been portraying through this blog is something to aspire to, they have been a true inspiration to me!

  21. Leah,

I am so glad you are feeling a little stronger today. I will be praying that each day gets better for you, as I am sure it will. You are a special blessing in my life, and I will be laughing with you a year from now when you are going through what I went through today - I had the first of my childhood immunizations all over again - six shots today, 2 more 2 months from now, and so on and so on. I say I will laugh, because you have to find humor in a grown adult going to the doctor and him saying "I will have to go check the pediatric department and see if they have some of these." I guess after they give you the shots as a child, they don't expect an adult to ever need them again. Anyway, my mom went with me and laughed at me too! (She said I cried less as a baby.) Just kidding, not a tear was shed. Anyway, this has been my sick attempt of lifting you up and giving you something humorous to look forward too. Keep the chin up and stay positive. Each day does get better.

    Love ya lots.
    Marsha

PS - I posted my cruise pics on my facebook page if you want to just have something to look at. Miss chatting with you on there.

  23. Hello my friend, I'm soooooooooooo happy that you were able to get out of bed today. B'H. I pray everyday that the storm will be over and you will be dancing in the sunshine. Well maybe just sitting on the beach with me. I hope your pain and misery will be behind you. (I don't mean your tushie) I also know that Mommy Judie's TLC has pulled you thru. She was there for me when my Mom was not able. At Noah's Bris, your Mom was the only one that checked on me while everyone was eating Lox & Bagels. I'll never forget it. The love of your whole family has seen me thru. Anyway since I can't sing for you,nor do you want me to. Think of the song..You are my sunshine. Stay strong & optimistic. LH&K Beth
