I had an appointment at the hospital today. Everything went well, thank God. I got 1 unit of blood transfused. Dr. Schuster further reduced my Prednisone to 2.5mg daily but added a third medication for HBP. I'm already taking Norvasc and Hydralazine and he added Vasotec. Hopefully that will control my pressure.
B"H I've been feeling better emotionally -- nothing like Friday's meltdown. I still have my moments and I get very frustrated and impatient with my progress or lack thereof. But it IS just 4 months and I'm going to try to be more patient with myself. I think that the pressure of the upcoming holiday is getting to me. I also think that I'm expecting myself to do more that I can do and I have to learn how to say "that's it". Whatever gets done will be done.
Mom will be returning from Florida next Wednesday night and I'm looking forward to that. I have my next appointment on Thursday afternoon. For now, thank you all again for your words of encouragement and for your thoughts and prayers and good wishes.
Hi Leah,
ReplyDeleteIt is great to read that our Tehillim and davening are paying off...I daven with the kids every morning in the car on the way to school, and before we start we always talk about our Kavannah, and for what and whom we are davening....of course your name comes up first, and my neighbor is also thinking of you and always asking about your well-being. I can't imagine how difficult the recovery must be...especially thinking about expectations for Pesach...try to look at this upcoming Chag in a different way....You, like Bnai Yisrael, have just undergone and continue to take a very difficult and arduous journey,....Ari and I pray that it is one where you will be able to celebrate freedom from your own physical, mental, and emotional burdens of the past....Maybe if you can look at the Chag and focus just on that aspect,...the cleaning and food issues will take the back seat. We're rooting for you, and can't wait to celebrate on the other side of "Yam Suf."
Leah - you are doing amazingly! It sounds like your transfusions are getting to be fewer and less frequent. That is the way it should be. You are right on track. Congrats on the lower prednisone. Have you noticed any reduction in the puffiness? I am down to 5 a day and can't notice a difference. That is depressing to me because I hate feeling so bloated. I hope all else is going well for you. My thoughts are always with you.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs plenty!
Marsha

Lee,
ReplyDeleteIt's truly amazing that you never cease to inspire me. Neither do all of the writers on your blog. Thanks to everyone.

Hi Leah Sorry I haven't written in a couple of days. It seems that you are doing well despite all your difficulties and I know you are counting your blessings because you have come a long way baby. I know I can't imagine what it is like for you and it is easy for me to say keep on going but I must, so use baby steps when you're having a bad day. Pesach will be here soon and I'm sure no matter what it will be wonderful because you all have each other. B'H"!!! Love Always Buford xxx000xxx
