Good Morning. Today's word for the day is P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E. I must learn what that means. I'm didn't get more than a few hours of sleep and I'm still feeling quite rundown and very shaky. I know that this is all part of the road to recovery but I have to learn to be patient and not get frustrated. It's not easy.
I'm sitting in my kitchen watching the snow come down. I was hoping to get out a little today, but I think I'll stay put. I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow morning at 9:30. I'm not even going to try to predict what I'll need.
My catheter dressing needs to be changed today. It's supposed to be done 3x/wk. Unfortunately, my insurance company will only approve home visiting nurse once/wk. The hospital does it on a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule. So, they changed it for me Mon. I'm going to have to get Mom to come and do it today (she's done it once before). And, hopefully the visiting nurse will do it Friday, with David watching, because Mom is going back down to Florida for the winter next week. That means that David will be the only who can do it here. I can flush the lines myself, but not change the dressing. Just another thing on my mind.
I have a whole list of questions to ask to Doc tomorrow. Questions about CMV and Valcyte and GvHD. And I never got the pathology results from the colonoscopy last week. Hopefully, I'll have some more answers tomorrow.
Thanks for keeping and eye on me. I hope everyone is well and warm and safe.
I'm sorry that you are feeling shaky and rundown but you are right, patience is necessary. Today is a great day to relax. Since I'm off from school Chana Gila wants to go to the mall so I'm heading over to Roosevelt Field in a little while.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to get out a little bit later on call me. I'd be happy to come over and take you out.

Leah - one day at a time :-). Hope you feel better tomorrow. Let me know how your appointment goes tomorrow. Remember to write down all your questions so you won't forget them when you get there. Sometimes, when the doctor starts giving me so much information, I forget what it was I wanted to say. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope that you feel better tomorrow. BTW, your Mom will love it down here - it was 82 here today. No snow in sight. Love ya lots.

Froggie returns. Cold's alot better. Dinner tonight?
ReplyDeleteLeah, It sounds like someone is raining on your parade. Considering all you are going through you are entitled to be frustrated. It's not easy feeling uncomfortable in your own skin without knowing when it will stop. I guess the only thing you can do is give yourself small tasks to accomplish and if that fails you can always eat or indulge in taking a nap. It really doesn't matter when you sleep your body needs the rest to rejuvenate. If you can't read I'll get you some books on tape from the library. Do you want me to change the dressing? I'll do whatever it takes to make things easier for you. Don't worry be happy. Love always, Buford xxx000xxx P.S. How's Illana's neck?
ReplyDeleteHi Moonie...So sorry you aren't doing so well!! I feel terrible that I haven't been around for you...I promise to be better next week especially with mom flying south. Just found out Erica has a tumor on her foot and have to take her to Sloan next week (Tuesday....maybe we can carpool to city) to find out what the story is. Let's all keep praying. Will call you for sure tomorrow. Hope Illana is better. xoxoxoxo
