Hi. I saw the doctor this morning. Thank God everything's good. I got platelets and I'm scheduled for more blood on Thursday. Also, he said that the CMV (virus) level has already been reduced to the point where we may be able to discontinue the Valcyte on Thursday.
I'm a bit tired because for some reason I woke up at 4:30am and that was it for the night. I may have to take a little nap today but I don't want to get into the habit of a daytime nap and then half a night's sleep. I guess I'll let my body make the decision for me. If I fall asleep, so be it.
Oh! Also, yesterday was the first time I went anywhere other than to the doctor. I went over to Mom's to go through some of my Grandmother's things. Even though I didn't drive there (Illana did) it was really a milestone. And then today, I DROVE to Bed, Bath & Beyond -- which thankfully was empty -- and picked up a couple of things. It was only for about 10 minutes, but it felt good to be a little independent. (Might also explain why I'm so tired).
Hoping this finds you all healthy, happy & warm. Believe in miracles and pray for peace.
WOW!! Sounds like you are really healing and that all is progressing as it should. You went to my most favorite store without calling me? Well I guess the fact that I'm in work kind of doesn't work in my favor but if you go again call me. If it's before work I'd love to go. Maybe I'll even play a little hookey if I can.
ReplyDeleteHow is your mom doing? How is her hand and does she now have any florida plans?
Love ya!!

Wow - this was super blog news. So glad that you are doing so much better and hopefully very soon this will all be behind you. I'm going back down to Florida for a few days but when I get back maybe you'll really be up for company and Harold and I can come over. Alice
ReplyDeleteLeah - how exciting for you. I am so happy that you felt well enough to drive. I was able to drive early as well, but actually walking around the stores was a challenge. Don't overdo! Stay warm, too! I am praying for the day that you need no more transfusions. I know my platelets were the last to recover - it has only been the last couple of months that they were up into normal range. I think once they reached 20 or 30 though, they stopped transfusing them. And how exciting will it be to be off the valcyte. It wont take long - mine didn't either. Keep up the good work and stay positive.

Marsha
Leah Thank g-d everything was good at your doctor's visit today. At times we all worry about the unknown whatever that might be. For you such as the virus, more medication, ect.. and with Hashem's help your on the upswing again. I'm also glad you were able to make a BB&B run. It's good to shop it lifts the spirit along with getting a change of environment. It was so good to see you and the family on Saturday & Sunday. A little bit of shabbos with all of you really warms my heart and lifts my spirit in ways I can't explain. Thanks again for all the goodies. I also hold a piece of grandma in my heart and in the future on my challah. Love Always XXXoooXXX Beth
ReplyDeleteDear Leah, So happy to hear that you are managing to get around on your own and we feel with your your sense of accomplishment. May you continue to go "mchayil l'chayil" with Hashem's help! I'm sure this independence will make Ilana and family feel more comfortable about being away. Today Aliza came over and I gave her a bag full of ski stuff, from head (hats) to toe (snow boots). Now that she is outfitted I hope she will be more excited to go. We, of course, are super excited. My boys have been counting down the days and today Yehuda started counting down the hours. As I told Aliza, it's a wonderful trip because most of the day you see the amazingly beautiful surroundings and you just want to say "ma rabu ma'asecha Hashem!" We look forward to next year when you can join us too. In the meantime, keep that positive attitude and we'll continue including you in our tefilot. We love you, and admire you!

Hi Leah,
ReplyDeleteIt’s great to here about all these great steps that you are taking. I am sure that as time passes you will continue to regain back your strength and will be able to accomplish a little more each day. Of course you have to make sure you are taking it slowly, and not overdoing anything!
Looking forward to hearing all your continued progress.
Special regards to Judy and Ilana!
