Don't those flowers look real??Good morning. I'm feeling a little stronger again today. One thing I realize that I have not yet mentioned until now is the quality of the care I'm getting here. It's as if each nurse and nurse's assistant is hand picked for this unit. Although I know that they do rotations on other units as well, it just seems like here we have the cream of the crop. They are so eager to answer any questions and are at the ready to find the answer if they don't know it. They constantly reassure me and are forever asking if there's anything at all I need to make me more comfortable. And, perhaps most importantly, to hold my hand and tell me "Hey, you're doing great!"
Then there are those on the housekeeping and dietary staff. Every person who walks into this room greets me pleasantly, asks how I'm feeling, and senses if it's ok to continue on into a conversation or just go about their work for now.
Now that the chemo is over and the transplant has been infused, we have to load my body up with anti-rejection drugs, anti-biotics, anti-fungals. Lots of antis. Those are in addition to the anti-nausea. Well, I'm ready. Let's go! This is a photo of my doctor, Michael Schuster and nurse practitioner Bita Jalilizeinali. They're the one's that are pretty much running the show here. They sure look awfully friendly, don't they?

ReplyDeleteYou are right that the Dr and the nurse look like nice people. It is wonderful that the whole staff -- the Drs/nurses/etc -- have been that attentive to you. It is not only the least you deserve, but will help you on your road to recovery!

Hey Cuz, Abe here. I hope you don't mind me chiming in here. I have been super worried about you. It was tough tracking all this down. It's amazing what I can track down via government computers. Big Brother is always watching. Naa Avram gave me the blog address, but you have to admit the other method sounded so much cooler. You can't imagine how worried I have been about you. I spoke to Illana and she explain what's going on. I just wanted to say I wish you the best and if anyone can get thru this it's you. I'm here for you if there is anything I can possibly do. You hang in there!!!

Judy, I need to remind you what a fine job you did to raise your family the way you did. I truly admire your strength and self sacrifice. I am sure you are so proud of how your children came together to help and even donate. You have taught them well that family comes first just like your mom taught you. You know quite well we dont get to speka all the time but when we do its like where we left off! I called Illana back and jokingly I say "so you are inviting me for Thanksgiving Weekend" and then of course I hear whats going on!!
Firstly REFUAH SHELAMAH, this Blog is amazing!!! Lea you are always the strong one when it comes to keeping the family going in all kinds of situations! I spent some time with you at Burke with your DAD A'H and you were amazing! Dont think HASHEM forgets anything and I know with you Zechus things will only go uphill for you and in no time you will be back to yourself!!

Now update on our Family, Moish is doing Well BH! Meir ,Leiba, and Reuvain Eliyahu are in Ramat Eshkol, Meir is learning, Leiba is not woking for IDT due to all the changes but is doing Graphic consulting and taking care of Reuvain. She BH is due at the end of Pesach with child #2!!! Yisroel and Bashie, living in Lakewood, are BH fine!They are waiting to have their first child in December -sooner than later!
Mordechai is still in Long Beach, turning 21 in January! Tziril is 15 and in 10th grade she is in the middle of Hebrew Midterms! In BY she has Midterms four times a year, they split up the Hebrew and English! She is happy and that is all that counts!!!
