This is Illana again. Leah's pressure has been very high which is a side effect of the medication. They sent her for a cat scan but thank G-d that came back o.k. They increased the medication to lower her pressure. She has a horrible taste in her mouth. Basically, she feels pretty rotten from the side effects but she's doing o.k. The doctors say that she's on target.
Your comments, good wishes, and prayers are so appreciated. Leah apologizes for not having acknowledged them all. She loves every single one! You can't imagine how much it means to her.
Hi Leah,
ReplyDeleteHappy thanksgiving.Sorry to hear about the side effects.Your report sounded much better yesterday.Hopefully the side effects will diminish rapidly.

Leah, I've been following your blog over the past few days...Eliyahu and Yedida have added your name to their list for whom they learn the Chofetz Chaim nightly. In that zechut, may Hakadosh Boruch Hu remove any bad taste from your mouth and help your recovery. We have also arranged for the entire Yeshiva to dedicate their daily learning to your refuah. Our tefilot are with you and your family...Joyce Cohen
ReplyDeleteHi Leah,
ReplyDeleteWe think about you every day. In fact we still have some books that you had given us years ago circulating through the Moskowitz family (of the Doris and Larry variety) with your name on the inside front cover! We wish you an easy and speedy recovery. Happy Thankgiving!!
Love, Elza, Michael and Family
Wanted to tell all of you who are with Leah that I am Thankful for each one of who who can give her comfort in person while all us bloggers can only send our best and most heartfelt wishes for a Refuah shelaima. You are so very loved.

Illana, thanks for the update. Leah I'm sorry that you have to feel rotten first before you feel better. You are really blessed by family and friends. I think this blog is great. I think you found your calling..maybe when you are feeling better you should have a daily column. Informative, light, funny and as beautiful as you are. One day at a time! Happy Thanksgiving to the Solomon's, Moskowitz's and Wiseman's love from the Kaplan's. LH&K Beth

ReplyDeletehello to you all
ReplyDeletemy name is shupy, ilana knows who i am,
i guess im a little out of touch, but i just heard from chavy about what is going on with leah, an di really took it personaly, being that i always looked at ilana and her family as part of our family,
there really is nothing that i can say to comfort any one, its at times like these that we wish we knew what to say and all of the sudden even the big mouths have nothing to really say,
but i would like you to all know is that i really want to help in any way i can, and at this point that might just mean being there for you, listening to you, and most of all caring for you, caring by us means first all doing any thing in our ower to help materially after the that davening for you,
the chazon ish says something that really made a major impression on my life and i would like to share this with all of my new freinds and family in this blog, and it goes as follows;
if one sees his freind drowning in the river and does not stick out his hand to help him, it is self understood that he is a terrible person, but the chozon ish adds , what if i were to see my freind drowning in the miidle of the river and he would be to far away for me to help, and would just stand there and do nothing, that would seemingly be ok, says the chazon ish thats not so! if he does not pray for his freind at this time its just like not sticking out his hand when he is near, prayer has the power to do and change, just as much as physical help, its all in hashems hands,
now as i stand from far i will try to help as i would if i stood from near, and daven to hashem that leah should have the power phyisicly and emtionally to withstand and over come, so to may the dear family hold strong,
sincearly
shupy
It’s Meir & Leiba (Chavie’s oldest daughter and son-in-law). As you can see, my mother has not stopped thinking about you, and everyone in the family she speaks to is updated with what is going on. We were shocked to hear the news, and can’t even begin to imagine all that you are going through. Living in Israel, does distance us, but you are on our minds and most importantly in our Tefillos ALWAYS! May Hashem just continue to give you the strength to overcome this test and we Daven that you should feel stronger and better each day.
ReplyDeleteAll Our Love,
Meir, Leiba & Reuven Helman
Hi Leah,
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving.... I do hope that you are starting to feel better. Those drugs you are taking for all of those things are really nasty. I remember only too well. Just keep thinking positive thoughts and remember there are lots and lots of people rooting and praying for you.
It's very difficult for me to read all of these things, but I saw Dr Schuster and actually recognized him after 12 years. I spoke with your mother and Avram this week. I will send you an e-mail soon. In the meantime.... you aren't out of my thoughts for a minute.
Love,
Ceil
Leah, I just got off the telephone with Alana. She is visiting Jordan in Israel this week. They are going to the Kotel tonight and tomorrow and will be davening for your speedy refuah. Hope you're feeling better today. Have a good shabbos. Love to all.
ReplyDeleteHi Leah,
