Tuesday Morning

I had an appointment yesterday at the hospital. They really screwed up, though. Initially, I had my appointment scheduled for NEXT Monday. My last HGB was 9.1 so I called the doctor's office, told them that waiting 2 weeks would be too long because I'm pretty sure I'm going to need blood sooner. So she gave me an appointment for yesterday morning. When I got to the blood/treatment center, they didn't have me on their schedule. Apparently, she gave me an appointment to see the doctor only and not the have blood work, CBC, transfusions, anything...even though that was the sole reason I made an earlier appointment. They were able to arrange for me to have a CBC. And then even though my HGB is 8.0 and I need blood, they weren't able to get it for me yesterday. So I have to go back today, which is a huge hassle! They're getting me in at 4PM. I think I'm going to have to drive by myself because I'm not going to have my mom and sister take me AGAIN. I'm angry, annoyed and frustrated and it's very difficult dealing with incompetence when you're not feeling well.

So, I'll be off this afternoon for blood and will update again soon. Thanks again for keeping up with me and for letting me vent. And thanks for your continued good wishes and prayers and for keeping me in your thoughts. Believe in miracles.

  1. Hi!
Good morning! In Hebrew we say "כל עקבה לטובה" every delay is for the best, even though we might not feel it or see it or understand it but it is! I can imagine how frustrating it is to have to come back the next day when you were just there, for somebody's mistake, but consider it a little tiny pebble in the road.
    Good luck today!

  5. Hi Leah Mazel Tov! Happy 5 months! Look at what has been accomplished and not what isn't working. Easy to say but a goal to live by. I know it's really aggravating to have to travel back and forth to the city, especially when you are not feeling well. Maybe the secretary thought you were coming for lunch. Unfortunately we have to deal with morons in all types of situations. Hence the name so where are you going to put that! Hopefully this will be the only mistake. So take a couple of deep cleansing breaths and smile. Love Always, Buford xxx000xxx

  6. Wow - sounds crazy. I hope you are not driving if they give you benadryl. They always gave me benadryl before my transfusions. Keep your chin up and stay positive. I feel your frustration. Seems like I have to go in way too often. Fortunatly, I am not dealing with a large hosp/blood center, and they do their transfusions right in my drs. office. They also do their own cbc's and it only takes minutes. It is really awesome there. Hope you are doing well and feel free to vent all you want. Take care and many prayers.

    Love and Hugs,
    Marsha
